Simone Biles. By Louis

Simone Biles was born in 1997 in Ohio. She and her sister Adria were raised by their grand-parents while their mother struggled with substance abuse. She has become one of the top American gymnasts of all time, practicing more than 30 hours per week. She started by dominating the junior elite level. Then, she dominated the senior gymnastics level, winning her first all-around world title in 2013. In 2015, she claimed a record third straight world all-round title, and went on to lead the U.S. Olympic Women's gymnastics team, nicknamed "The Final Five," to win Gold at the 2016 Summer Games. She dominated the competition, winning Gold in the women's individual all-around, vault and floor exercise, and Bronze in the balance beam. With 21 Olympic and World Championship medals, she is the most decorated American gymnast ever.

As many in my school know, I am a gymnast and that's why I chose to talk about Simone Biles. She’s more than the best gymnast ever, she’s a real model for me and indeed for every gymnast in their lives. She is so strong-willed! Even though she had a difficult childhood (even being sexually abused by former USA Gymnastics team doctor Larry Nassar), she never, ever, gave up.
